Helen Stopps named Canada Research Chair in Community-Centered Building Science
23 Oct 2026 · Award
Dr. Helen Stopps has been named the new Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Community-Centered Building Science at Toronto Metropolitan University. The five-year Chair supports research that connects building performance, indoor conditions and climate resilience with the people and communities who experience them.
Through GroundTRUTH Lab, the programme will combine field measurements, low-cost monitoring and modelling with community knowledge. Community and housing partners will shape the questions, decide what is measured and determine how findings are interpreted and shared.
